Can WindSim be used for unstable boundary layer condition?

In wind flow modeling, simulations are often run in steady-state mode, where the solver seeks an equilibrium condition in which all flow variables remain constant over time. However, under unstable flow conditions, natural oscillations and instabilities prevent the solution from reaching equilibrium — the pressure and velocity fields fluctuate from one iteration to the next. Therefore, when dealing with such inherently unsteady situations, we typically approximate the unstable case by running it as a neutral case instead.
We recommend that you do not run WindSim for unstable boundary layer conditions, because it is very difficult to reach a converged solution.
